2 Premier League captains & 1 NFL player just gave a huge middle finger to the LGBTQ+ community
Pride Nights and inclusion-related events are ubiquitous in pro sports. But they still cause controversy.
Perhaps the most well-known promotion is the Premier League’s Rainbow Laces campaign, which was introduced in 2013. As the most popular sports league in the world, the Premier League’s embrace of LGBTQ+ imagery is important, with rainbow colors being painted on items such as corner flags and ball plinths.
Part of the league’s efforts include providing rainbow-colored armbands for captains to wear. But for the second consecutive season, one of the league’s 20 captains refused to wear it.
How about we take this to the next level?
