A small city in rural Minnesota made history in last week’s election, but it also has many people scratching their heads.

Pine City is located in east central part of the state, about an hour outside of the Twin Cities. The quiet rural community, which is home roughly 3,700 people, voted overwhelmingly for Donald Trump, with 62% casting their ballots for the 78-year-old, 34-time convicted felon.

But when it came to picking local leadership, voters swung in the complete opposite direction and elected the city’s first out gay mayor.

Politics, but make it gay!
