Former Aide Sues Jersey City Mayor After Being Fired For Donating To His MAGA Extremist Anti-LGBTQ Sister

The Bergen Record reports:

Jonathan Gomez-Noriega, a former aide to Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop [photo], is suing the gubernatorial hopeful for wrongful termination, retaliation and discrimination, after he said he was fired in August for supporting his sister, a Republican candidate. Gomez-Noriega was fired in August when news broke that he had donated $1,250 to his sister, Valentina Gomez, for her campaign to be elected as secretary of state in Missouri.

His support of her campaign — which used gay slurs in its videos — lead to unwanted attention on Gomez-Noriega and his role on Jersey City’s LGBTQ+ task force, the lawsuit claims.
