Kari Lake is rumored to be embarking on a humiliating next chapter

It seems like Kari Lake could be heading to a far-right witness protection program.

The serial election loser is in “active negotiations” to join Newsmax, according to Mediaite. The disreputable network saw its ratings improve for a period following the 2020 election, due its willingness to indulge Trump’s most outrageous conspiracies about voter fraud. But there were downsides to spewing such conspiratorial propaganda: Newsmax faced two multi-billion dollar defamation lawsuits from election tech companies Dominion and Smartmatic over its outlandish coverage.

In the lead-up to this year’s election, Newsmax’s viewership numbers plummeted. As of last week, its primetime viewership was only 287,000, and total day viewership was 196,000.
