Additionally, many guys started gravitating towards swim briefs, broadly known as “Speedos” today, which offered even less coverage and became increasingly popular for athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

Overall, 1950s men’s swimsuits reflected a newfound emphasis on athleticism and leisure activities, diverging from the more conservative and, frankly, far less sexy styles of earlier eras.
