Air Canada Flight Skids To Fiery Landing, No Injuries

An Air Canada aircraft caught fire during a failed landing at Halifax airport Saturday night. At around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 28, Air Canada Express Flight 2259 skidded down the runway, with part of the aircraft catching fire, shutting down airport operations for 90 minutes, according to an update shared by the airport.
“The plane shook quite a bit and we started seeing fire on the left side of the plane and smoke started coming in the windows,” passenger Nikki Valentine shared in an interview with CBC News. Video shared by passengers capture dramatic bursts of flame erupting from the aircraft wing as it scrapes the runway.
