As she settles in to Congress, Sarah McBride refuses to let Nancy Mace rain on her parade

Sarah McBride made history on Friday when she was sworn into Congress as a US House Representative from Delaware. In doing so, the 34-year-old Democrat became the first trans person to serve in the US Congress. 

McBride marked her arrival in DC with a couple of photos on her social media. 

In one, she said, “Filled with awe as I stepped onto the floor of the House to cast my first votes as a Member of Congress.”
