Britney Spears’ Father, Jamie Spears, Suspended As Britney Spears’ Conservator

A judge on Wednesday removed Britney Spears’ father, Jamie Spears, from her conservatorship, following a long, drawn-out legal battle that has persisted since the pop star was placed under the court-ordered arrangement more than 13 years ago.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny on Wednesday granted the 39-year-old singer’s request to immediately suspend her father as conservator of her estate, a role he has filled since the conservatorship’s creation in early 2008.

Penny appointed John Zabel, a certified public accountant nominated by Britney Spears, to oversee her finances on a temporary basis.
