Clairo’s seven-word response to ‘labelling’ her sexuality is iconic
American singer-songwriter Clairo has a seven-word response to those who wish to put a “label” on her sexuality.
The “Juna” singer – who has recently toured the US and Europe as part of her Charm Tour – came out in 2018 as bisexual. Seven years on, and the indie pop star – born Claire Cottrill – has explained that traditional labels don’t resonate with her identity.
Cotrill told Seventeen Magazine, “I don’t care for labels at all.” The 26-year-old – who is rumoured to be the object of Billie Eilish’s desires in her steamy sapphic track “Lunch” – shared her beliefs that “people should like who they want and no one should have a problem with it”.
