Kris Fitzgerald is an animation editor who resides in Los Angeles with his handsome husband. But he remembers what it was like when he lived a more isolated existence.
Growing up gay in Utah, he didn’t know there was a community out there waiting for him. Fitzgerald didn’t meet any gay kids in school and seldom learned about queer history. When he did, it was usually a gut-wrenching tale about tragedy and despair.
With the current administration targeting the LGBTQ+ community–and trying to legislate trans people out of public life–Fitzgerald keeps thinking back to the younger version of himself.
