How ‘Wicked’ has helped me defy archaic stereotypes as a plus-sized Black queer man
While I now consider myself an unofficial member of the Wicked Hive (do we have an official name yet?!), admittedly, I didn’t know much about it or its lore before seeing the film adaptation, which just hit streamers on Friday. I mean, yes, I knew it was set in the same universe as the iconic Wizard of Oz, along with the (confirmed) assumption that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo would crush their roles. Still, my knowledge stopped there — until I finally watched it.
