What’s it like in the mind of a twink? Why it’s pink, kitschy, and stuffed with oiled up muscle men, of course!
At least, that’s how filmmaker James Bidgood imagined it in his 1971 arthouse erotica, Pink Narcissus, a candy-colored provocation that left its mark on the early lineage of queer cinema. And soon you’ll have the opportunity to see a restored version of his sparkling, seductive vision on the big screen!
In the ’50s and ’60s, Bidgood had established himself as a body photographer unafraid of going against the grain. At the time, physique magazines prioritized hyper-masculine, athletic men, but his work was softer, more beautiful—and more scandalous.
How about we take this to the next level?
