Kevin Corsino on finding a gay hockey family, traveling North America on skates & whether playoff beards are hot

Like any New Englander worth his road salt, Kevin Corsino learned to skate before he could walk. The Massachusetts native grew up with a makeshift rink in his backyard, playing games of pond hockey until dusk with his four siblings and kids around the neighborhood.
It was a childhood straight out of Slap Shot, save for the part about a closing mill. All through high school, Corsino felt at home on the ice. But as he started to reckon with his identity as a gay man, his comfort level dropped.
