Lena Dunham supports trans rights outside the U.S. Capitol: ‘Trans liberation is our liberation’
Lena Dunham spoke out in support of trans rights outside the U.S. Capitol on Trans Day of Visibility.
The Girls creator, writer and star made a rare appearance in public on Sunday (31 March) to advocate for trans rights with the Christopher Street Project. The organisation “builds and leverages political power to make equity a reality for transgender people across the country”.
The American Horror Story actress denounced the “horrific government abuses” at the hands of the Trump-Vance administration. “We must help protect the civil rights of our trans friends and family,” Dunham told fellow campaigners at the Washington, D.C. Transgender Day of Visibility rally.
