LIVE VIDEO: Gaza War Ceasefire Has Gone Into Effect

The Washington Post reports:

A ceasefire in Gaza has come into effect, putting a halt to more than 15 months of devastating war. The agreement was set to be enforced earlier Sunday but was delayed by almost three hours when Hamas failed to provide on time the list of three female hostages that it would release on the first day.

Gaza’s Civil Defense said that in the delay, at least 19 people were killed as Israeli warplanes carried out strikes across the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that it received the names and said they will be released after 4 p.m. local time Sunday. So far, the ceasefire has appeared to hold, with no reports of fighting.
