LIVE VIDEO: Scott Bessent’s Confirmation Hearing

The Associated Press reports:

Thursday’s hearings include Doug Burgum for the Interior Department, Scott Turner for the Housing and Urban Development Department, Lee Zeldin for the EPA, Scott Bessent for the Treasury Department and Pam Bondi will go before the Senate Judiciary Committee for a second day.

Bessent, the billionaire money manager from South Carolina, will take questions from members of the Senate Finance Committee.

Bessent would be the first openly LGBTQ+ Senate-confirmed Cabinet member in a Republican administration. The treasury chief helps formulate financial, economic, and tax policy, and manage the public debt.
