Las Vegas’s NBC affiliate reports:

The U.S. Supreme Court has denied Steve Wynn’s petition for an appeal in his lawsuit against the Associated Press, which sought to overturn a landmark ruling in libel law. The court included Wynn’s petition for a writ of certiorari in its list of denials issued Monday. No reasoning or dissents were listed.

Wynn sued the AP over the wire service’s reporting on allegations of sexual misconduct filed with police in the 1970s. He has denied all allegations of wrongdoing. The Nevada Supreme Court first dismissed Wynn’s defamation lawsuit last year, citing the state’s anti-SLAPP law.
