Top Senators Demand Pentagon Probe Into Signalgate

The Washington Post reports:

The top Republican and Democratic senators on the Senate Armed Services Committee are asking the White House to expedite a Defense Department review of the Trump administration officials’ group chat on Signal about an imminent U.S. attack on Houthi militants in Yemen.

Chairman Roger Wicker [photo] (R-Mississippi) told reporters Wednesday that the top Democrat on the committee, Sen. Jack Reed (Rhode Island), is joining him in the request.

All 16 Democrats on the House Armed Services Committee issued an open letter Wednesday to committee Chairman Rep. Mike D. Rogers (R-Alabama), calling for him to bring Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth before the panel to testify “on the record” about the Signal incident.
