Spooky season is upon us!
Halloween is believed to be rooted in a pagan fire festival that celebrated the harvest, honored the dead, and warded off evil spirits. It has since turned into a day of recognizing all things spooky, sinister, transgressive, and queer.
Because of this, it’s a well-known fact that the gays officially own the holiday, hence why it is often referred to as “Gay Christmas.” And by default, we also own the horror movie genre.
